Missions

 

At Sans Souci, missions is not just another word, it is our lifeblood. We take literally the command of Jesus to be His witnesses in our city, our state, our nation, and our world
(Acts 1:8). Here are some of the ways that we perform missions:

• Community Pantry
  A community pantry open on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month at the church. We also provide an optional worship service for our food pantry participants.
   

• Nursing Home Interaction
  Some of our members lead a weekly hymn sing at the Oakmont Nursing Home in Greenville.
   

• A Thanksgiving meal is provided for the entire community.
   

• Japanese Fellowship
  Members of the Japanese community are invited to meet on the third Sunday afternoon of each month.
   

• Special mission trips and projects
  Check The Informer for information regarding trips and ongoing projects for our community schools, and also a prison ministry.
   

• Periodic missionary speakers, missions studies and offerings throughout the year.

 

Ministries

Music
The Sans Souci Music Ministry is an active and vital part of our worship, fellowship and outreach. Please see the Music Ministry page for information.

Christian Education Ministry
The goal of our Christian Education Ministry is to satisfy a wide range of needs by offering varied programs for all ages. Each program offered is a person-centered and Bible-based with the need of the individual as the point of focus. Small group organization allows for more personalized instruction and direct attention.

Opportunities are available for:

Preschoolers
Bible based principles are taught through activity centered programs. Mother's (and Father's!) Day Out is also offered each Thursday at 9:00 a.m. Please call 233-4558 for reservations.

Children
Foundations for living are taught using the Bible as well as social activities, including holiday celebrations, Vacation Bible School and local outings.

Youth
Innovative biblical teaching, recreational activities, special studies and parties are used to help youth during this vital decision-making time of their lives.

Single Adults
Christian support, innovative Bible instruction and regular get-togethers afford opportunities that keep this group Christ-centered as well as group-focused.

Young Married/Married with Young Children
Biblical instruction and strong friendships are combined to foster Christ-centered careers and homes for this group.

Median Adults
The Movers and Shakers Bible Study class provides biblical instruction in an easy to understand manner, and also offers caring support for adults who are facing the demands of career and family responsibilities.

Senior Adults
Several Bible Study classes provide informative lessons from God's Word. Members also offer each other support for everyday concerns.

Sans Souci seniors enjoy Christian fellowship at the Young at Heart monthly meetings where they are entertained by interesting speakers, musicians, and also share delicious meals.

 

Special Ministries

Prayer and Info Line
This is an excellent source of current information regarding member illnesses, hospitalizations,  funeral arrangements or upcoming events. You may also record a request for prayer on this line. Call 420-6657.

Library
A wide variety of reading material for all ages is available in the church library, free of charge.

Newsletter
The Informer, our weekly informational bulletin, is our primary resource for communication at Sans Souci Baptist Church. Please call the office at 233-4558 to be added to the mailing list.

Recreation
Recognizing the need to minister to the whole person, recreational programs are offered for all age groups. For example, we recently discovered the Little River on foot as we hiked the pristine Dupont, North Carolina State Forest. We also took in a baseball game at the fabulous downtown West End Field where we saw the Greenville Drive play the Rome Braves. In addition, aerobic classes for everyone are offered on Monday and Thursday. Please call 420-5888 for details.

Tape Ministry
Our Public Address Committee records worship services for use by our homebound members. You may call the church office to obtain a cassette.
